Crochet Fidget Toy – Pocket Sized!

A while back I did a pattern and video tutorial for an extra large crochet fidget toy, and while it has been very popular, I have fielded several requests for a small one so here it is!

These are terrific for students to use as they are small, light, quiet, and not distracting for others.

I just used scraps! The solid rose one on the left is Red Heart With Love on a 6.00mm hook, and the one on the right is Red Heart Super Saver Stripes on a 5.50mm hook. Just use whatever looks good to you!

Fidget Toy:

You can start with 7 foundation single crochet and skip to setting up the round OR

Ch 8.

Row 1: Sc in back/bump of 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. 7 sc

In either case, place a marker in the top of the first sc you made.

To set up your mobius, join Row 1 into a ring by placing a sl st in the bottom of the first sc. NOT where the marker is, the bottom/chain side of the first sc.

Rnd 1: Ch 3, 4 dc in same st as rnd join, 5 dc in each of next 6 sc, now find the marked st, 5 dc in that st and in the top side of each of the next 6 sc, pull the beg-ch-3 through the center opening, join rnd with sl st in top of beg-ch-3. 70 dc

Now is a good time to double check that your dc round can pull freely through the center opening. See the video if you need extra help!

Rnd 2: Sl st in each dc around. To finish, cut yarn leaving a 4” – 6” tail, thread tail into tapestry needle, thread needle under both legs of the first sl st and pull through, put the tapestry needle down in the center of the same sl st the tail yarn came out of. Fasten off and weave in ends.

All done!
