Privacy

We hear at Hooked for Life value your privacy, and will never share your information except as noted below under Third Party websites. Newsletter subscribers should expect to hear from us no more than four times a month. 

Web Browser Cookies

Hooked for Life may use “cookies” to enhance user experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the website may not function properly.

Third Party Websites

Users may find advertising or other content on our website that link to the websites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these websites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our website. In addition, these websites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These websites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our website, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

Advertising

Ads appearing on our website may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile non personal identification information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy policy does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Affiliate Ads

Some of the ads you may see on the site are affiliate ads, in which case Hooked for Life may be compensated for any purchases made via those links at no additional cost to you. This is a great way to support the blog, and I appreciate you!

Shop Policies

Returns:

Digital downloads are final sale. All tangible merchandise can be returned within 7 days of receipt of merchandise provided it is in unused, original condition. Shipping and handling will not be refunded.

Order Cancellation:

Because we strive to fill orders as quickly as possible, orders for tangible goods can only be cancelled within 48 hours of order placement. There are no cancellations available on digital downloads.

Shipping Policy:

Digital downloads are automatically provided on payment.
Other items are shipped from Indiana within three business days of payment. Books are shipped USPS media mail, other items via USPS or UPS of FedEx Ground. Shipping fees are per item and are listed with each item; items will be combined into one shipment; email for quote for non-US shipping.

Teaching Policies And Fees – LYSs and Small Conventions

Large conferences will be paid according to the mutually agreed upon terms.

Travel Expenses:

Sponsors will cover basic travel expenses (either air or driving) and overnight accommodations. Driving within a two hour radius of home base in Fort Wayne, Indiana will be reimbursed at the rate of $0.58 per mile (IRS standard), round trip. Air travel includes round trip airfare from Fort Wayne airport, plus transportation to and from the airport OR a rental car for local transportation. Overnight accommodations at a local hotel will be provided at the rate of one night per class day, plus one additional night per trip if scheduling requires it. A $100 deposit is due to the instructor upon signing the contract. Expenses will be invoiced at the conclusion of the trip and the deposit will be deducted from the outstanding balance, which must be paid within 30 days of the invoice date.

Class Fees Paid to Instructor:

$10 per student per hour of class – for example, a two hour workshop with 10 students is $200 – (2 hours x 10 students =20 hours x $10 =$200). This is the fee paid to the instructor – you may charge whatever fee to your students you think is appropriate. These fees will be paid to instructor on the day classes are taught.

There is a $600 per day minimum that must be met.

Number of Students:

All classes require a minimum of 5 students and can accommodate a maximum of 24, unless otherwise noted, or unless previous arrangements have been made. Number of day/classes booked: negotiable depending on distance.

Book Signings:

I now have more than a dozen craft books in print. Book signings are provided if desired at no charge, but I do not always have books in stock to consign. Please order books from your favorite distributor, or make arrangements for me to bring some in advance.

Patterns:

Handouts and patterns related to the class will be provided on site by the instructor. Hooked for Life patterns for shop sales can be ordered through Bryson Distributing, or brought by the instructor. For print pattern sales, Ravelry codes will also be provided for the end consumer.

Cancellation Policies

Shop Cancellation:

If a shop cancels confirmed classes two or more weeks before the scheduled date, instructor will be paid 1/3 of the agreed-upon fees and travel and accommodation fees will be waived excepting any change fee charged by an airline to re-use any pre-purchased flights, typically about $200. If a shop cancels confirmed classes with less than 2 full weeks of notice, the instructor will be paid 2/3 of the agreed upon fees. Travel and accommodation fees will be waived unless non-refundable airline tickets have been purchased, in which case the airfare must be paid.

Instructor Cancellation:

If instructor cancels classes before arriving at venue, no fees will be paid to instructor.
