Color Block Washcloth

This washcloth pattern is super simple to stitch – it’s the color changes that make it interesting so you work along in single crochet and have no more stitches to learn!

I used red, gray and black because my 1930s bungalow has a red sink in it surrounded by gray speckled granite and I wanted something to go with that.

Finished Size:

8″ square

Materials:

3 colors of lightweight cotton yarn. I used Cotton DK from PaintBox Yarns in Black (A), Pillar Red (B) and Granite Gray (C).

Crochet hook size E/4/3.50 mm or size needed to obtain gauge. Remember you want cotton washcloths to be tightly crocheted so they maintain their shape/usefulness when they get wet!

Tapestry needle

Gauge:

16 sts x 18 rows = 4″ in sc

Notes:

When changing colors, remember to make the last yo of the last st of the old color with the new color. Check out the video below if you need a refresher!

Use bobbins as needed for the color changes, this is not meant to be worked as tapestry crochet.

The easiest way to make this is to follow the full color chart below!
