I am behind on my holidays…

I am pretty much behind on everything, but let’s ignore that for the moment, shall we? Kiddo’s dad had some major surgery of the knee persuasion yesterday and I am buried in trying to take care of him and do everything else on my to-do list at the same time. But this too shall pass, just like the many holidays that seem to have just blown by.

First we have National Pi Day – the Kid got extra credit in math for making a Pi Day T-shirt so we made a trip to AC Moore and went to town. Here’s the front…The back had the first 1000 number of Pi and more rhinestones than one would think was possible. I am not sure how she stood up under the weight, but I guess her step dancing dress was good practice.

Speaking of step dancing, the Kid did 7, count them, 7 separate dance demonstrations at her school on the big day. Twice in the gym for phys ed class, 5 times in social studies, where her Irish surnamed teacher made a St. Patrick’s day cafe as part of the economics unit. Most of the kids in the class made food and beverages to be sold to the other classes, guess who was the entertainment for the day?

Here she is warming up. Let’s just say that 5 reels and 5 hornpipes on linoleum over cement flooring take a lot out of a girl. The gym routines were much more fun because she had room to spread out and a nice wooden floor. I did have to remind her that there were not judges so she didn’t have to pay to the front 🙂

Just ordered another hundred skeins of yarn for the booklet that has no title. Gonna be fun times here next week when I try to pile the yarn around the hospital equipment for the Dad’s rehab…. I need another house just for my yarn. If only my potting shed had electricity…

Delivered the lacy crocheted top in the deep burgundy alpaca – amen and good riddance. The photo shoot is tomorrow (not that I was cutting it close or anything) so it may be available to the public sooner rather than later. I have to finish two felted bags and ship them out tomorrow, edit and annotate a few thousand magazine words, and knit a good chunk of a sweater. Speaking of which – let me go cast on the sleeves…
