Why is she Gertrude? She just is 🙂

Gertrude is knit with two colors of Beautiful You from Lion Brand Yarns, although you could do it with one skein if you prefer. Knit in the round from the bottom up, the fancy stitch pattern alternates sections of lace with small cable panels, and is made to be worn slouched. It’s a perfect item to knit and wear for the spring and summer!

Ribbed brim is super stretchy, up to 24″.
Hat is approximately 12″ long from cast-on edge to center of crown.
Approximately 300 yds Sport weight yarn (CYCA 2, Fine) in 2 colors. I used 2 skeins Lion Brand Yarn Beautiful You (or 1 if you wish to skip the color work). I used Spanish Villa #165-143 as the MC and Pumice Stone #165-150 as the contrast color.
16″ round circular needle size US 3/3.25mm and US 5/3.75mm – gauge is not critical for this pattern as it’s very stretchy.
DPNS or long cabled circular needle size 5/3.75mm as desired for crown decreases
K – knit
K2tog – knit 2 together
P – purl
Yo – yarn over
C4F – Cable 4 Front – place 2 sts on cable needle, hold in front of work, k2 from left-hand needle, k2 from cable needle.
