Finished Size: Approximately 12” in circumferences x 11” tall The fabric is stretchy to accommodate some variations in bottle sizing. Model shown on a 750ml cider bottle.
Materials:
Worsted weight yarn – model shown in 1 skein Patons Classic Wool Worsted in the Rich Teal colorway.
Set of 4 DPNs size US 7/4.5mm or size to make a pleasing fabric – gauge is not critical for this pattern.
Stitch marker
¾ yd/27” 3/8” wide double-faced satin ribbon
Gauge: 18 sts x 27 rows = 4”/10cm in basketweave stitch
Abbreviations:
DPN – double pointed needle
K – knit
Kfb – knit front and back, an increase
Rep – repeat
Rnd – round
Ssk – slip, slip, knit, a left-leaning decrease. Slip each of the next 2 sts purlwise, replace on left-hand needle, knit 2 together through back loop.
Cast on 8 sts on DPNs, set up to work in the round being careful not to twist.

Rnd 10: *Kfb, k4. Rep from * around. 48 sts
Rnd 12: *Kfb, k5. Rep from * around. 56 sts
Rnds 13 – 20: *K1, p1. Rep from * around.
Rnds 21 – 25: *K4, p4. Rep from * around.
Rnds 26 – 30: *P4, k4. Rep from * around.
Rnds 31 – 55: Rep Rnds 21 – 30 twice, then Rnds 21 – 25 once more.
Rnds 56 – 63: *K1, p1. Rep from * around.
Rnd 64: *Ssk, yo. Rep from * to last 2 sts, ssk. 55 sts
You will work in rows to the end.
Row 1: P1, *k1, p1. Rep from * around.
