Reversible Table Runner Pattern from Strips

Do you change your decor with the seasons or even on a whim? I made this cute table runner from precut strips with warm colors on one side and cool on the other, so I can flip it over to match whatever decorating mood I am in.

Finished Size: 10” x 38”

Materials:

Robert Kaufman Half Roll Jelly Brights OR 10 2 1/2” strips; 5 warm colors and 5 cool colors. Terrific way to use up leftovers!

Polyfil Low Loft Quilt batter 10 1/2” x 38 1/2”

Coordinating sewing thread and white sewing thread

Notes: 1/4” seam allowances allowed.

Cutting:

Cut each of your 10 strips to 30 1/2”.

Sewing:

Side One:

Align your cool strips from dark to light.

Sew them together beginning each strip 2” below the one to its left.

Side Two:

Align your warm strips from dark to light.

Sew the together beginning each strip 2 “ above the one to its left.

Check to make sure right sides/wrong sides line up!

Assembly:

Trim batting to the size/shape of the assembled halves.

Stack them with Side One right side up, Side Two right side down, then the trimmed batting.

Sew all the way around leaving a 3” opening along one long side to turn the work.

Clip all corners and turn right side out. Press, turning under the seam allowance of the opening.

Quilting/Edging:

You can quilt this however you choose! I used a machine embroidery stitch on my machine, making sure I chose one that looks good on both sides of the fabric, and stitched along each seam in white.

I used a smaller machine embroidery stitch that was staight on the right hand side and sent around the entire runner in white. You could do a simple topstitch if you prefer.
